Publication Committee Members
This issue marks the first appearance of a Book Review section in the Journal
of
Waterway, Port Coastal and Ocean Engineering. The premier review, quite
fittingly,
is of the book ``Water Wave Propagation over Uneven Bottoms'', by Dr. Maarten
W. Dingemans. Through his work over the last quarter century, Dr. Dingemans
has contributed greatly to our present ability to model water wave propagation.
This book represents the culmination of that effort.
Readers who are interested in contributing a book review to this section (and

1997 Journal of Waterway, Port, Coastal and Ocean Engineering Best Paper
Award.
The award for best paper in JWPCOE for the calendar year 1997 has been made to Drs. S. Assier Rzadkiewicz, C. Mariotti and P. Heinrich for their paper ``Numerical simulation of submarine landslides and their hydraulic effects'', which appeared in volume 123, pgs 149-157. The Editorial Board wishes to extend its congratulations to the authors for this fine effort.
It has come to our attention that there have been a few errors of omission in the list of referees for 1997, which appeared in the July/August issue of the journal. (Vol 124, 215-217.) The omissions include (to date):
People whose names were accidentally omitted from the list will be acknowledged in the 1998 list.
